Thick and creamy peach mango smoothie in a glass.

Every summer I buy way too many peaches at the farmers market (anyone else?), and if I don’t turn them into my healthy peach crispair fryer peaches, or single serve peach crisp, I slice and freeze them to make this smoothie. If you’ve never paired peaches with mango before, you’re in for a treat. The combination is SO GOOD!

Why You’ll Love This Smoothie

  • Made with 6 simple ingredients and ready in 5 minutes

What’s in This Peach Mango Smoothie?

  • Frozen Peaches: Frozen peaches help create a thick, creamy smoothie without needing ice (which can water down the flavor). During peach season, I love slicing and freezing fresh peaches so I always have them ready for vegan smoothies.
  • Frozen Mango: I almost always keep frozen mango chunks in my freezer for smoothies. They add natural sweetness and a tropical flavor that pairs so well with peaches (and in my tropical green smoothie).
  • Oat Milk: I usually use oat milk because it’s extra creamy, but almond milk, soy milk, or coconut milk all work.
  • Orange Juice: Adds a subtle citrus flavor that, when combined with the milk, gives this smoothie a delicious creamsicle flavor. I’ve tested it with and without the orange juice, and it’s definitely better with it!
  • Protein Powder: I use a plant-based vanilla protein powder which adds protein and makes the smoothie thicker. You can also leave it out, it’ll still be delicious.
  • Ground Flaxseed: This is optional, but I like to add ½ tablespoon for extra fiber and omega-3 fats. You won’t taste it! You can also use chia seeds or hemp hearts.

My Tested Smoothie Tips

  • Use frozen fruit: Frozen fruit is the secret to a thick and creamy smoothie without adding ice! I purposely don’t use ice in this smoothie because it dulls the flavor.
  • Adjust the liquid: The amount you need depends on how thick you like your smoothie and how powerful your blender is. Smaller blenders may need extra liquid to blend smoothly. I use a personal-sized Nutribullet.
  • Blend longer than you think: This is a tip I always share! Most smoothies become much creamier after an extra 20–30 seconds of blending.

Smoothie Variations to Try

Here are a few easy ways to customize it based on what you have on hand.

  • Frozen vs. fresh fruit: Frozen fruit gives you the thickest, creamiest texture, but if you only have fresh fruit, just freeze it overnight.
  • Make it sweeter: I think it’s naturally sweet enough, but if your fruit wasn’t very ripe or you prefer a sweeter smoothie, add one pitted medjool date or ripe banana. I’ve tried it with banana and it gives the smoothie an even creamier texture.
  • Add yogurt: When I first tested this recipe, I added ¼ cup vegan yogurt to try and make it ultra creamy. After making it again without the yogurt, I realized it didn’t make a huge difference, so I left it out. If you have some in the fridge, feel free to add it, but it’s definitely not necessary!
  • Add healthy fats: Sometimes I add one tablespoon of homemade almond butter which adds a delicious nutty flavor.
  • Add more fruit: Strawberries, raspberries, or pineapple would all be delicious! Just reduce the amount of peaches or mango slightly to keep the same consistency.
  • Add greens: Add a handful of spinach or kale. Note: the smoothie will turn green, but you won’t taste the greens.
  • Make a peach mango smoothie bowl: Reduce the milk by ¼–½ cup for a thicker consistency, then top with vegan granola or whatever toppings you like!

FAQs

How do I make this peach mango smoothie thicker?

Reduce the amount of liquid or add vegan yogurt/banana. I recommend starting with less liquid and adding more as needed. You can always thin out a smoothie, but you can’t take liquid back out!

Can I use fresh peaches instead of frozen?

Yes, fresh peaches will work, but you’ll have to freeze them first.

How do I freeze fresh peaches for smoothies?

To freeze fresh peaches, wash, peel, slice, and remove the pits. Spread the peach slices in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until firm, then transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container. Freezing them this way prevents the slices from sticking together, so you can easily grab what you need.

Can I turn this peach mango smoothie into a smoothie bowl?

Yes! Reduce the milk by ¼–½ cup to get a thicker consistency, then top with vegan granola, shredded coconut, fresh peaches, and hemp seeds (or whatever toppings you want!)

This peach mango smoothie tastes like sunshine in a glass, with bright, tropical flavors in every sip. Made with 6 ingredients and ready in 5 minutes, it's thick, creamy, and perfect for breakfast, an afternoon snack, or a refreshing summer treat!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup frozen mango chunks
  • ½ cup frozen peach slices
  • 1 cup non-dairy milk
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • ½ tbsp ground flaxseed, optional, or chia/hemp seeds

Instructions

  • Blend the ingredients: Add frozen mango chunks, frozen peaches, non-dairy milk, orange juice, protein powder, and ground flaxseed (if using) to a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy, adding a splash more milk or orange juice if needed.
  • Serve: Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately! I like to garnish mine with hemp seeds on top, but it’s totally optional.

Notes

  • Use frozen fruit: Frozen peaches and mango create a thick, creamy smoothie without needing ice! I don’t recommend adding ice because it can dilute the flavor and make the smoothie watery.
  • Got fresh peaches? Peel, slice, and freeze them overnight before blending.
  • Adjust the liquid: Start with the recommended amount and add a splash more oat milk or orange juice if needed, depending on your blender and preferred consistency.
  • Boost your smoothie: Add almond butter, strawberries, raspberries, pineapple, banana, spinach, kale, hemp seeds, chia seeds, etc.
  • Taste before sweetening: Depending on how ripe your fruit is, you may not need any additional sweetener. If you’d like it sweeter, add a medjool date or ripe banana.
