Ingredients Needed
Here’s what you’ll need to make this wholesome peach crisp!
- Peaches: Fresh or frozen both work! If it’s peach season, go with fresh ripe peaches for the juiciest flavor and texture. I like to peel mine, but leaving the skin on is totally up to you. Using frozen? Let them thaw slightly before baking.
- Cornstarch: A sprinkle of cornstarch helps soak up the juices from the peaches so the filling isn’t too runny.
- Rolled Oats: Make sure they’re certified gluten-free for a serious gluten allergy.
- Almond Flour: For a naturally gluten-free, nutrient-rich base that adds a soft, nutty texture.
- Walnuts & Almonds: These add crunch and heart-healthy fats. You can use one, or both, or substitute for your other favorite nuts like pecans.
- Maple Syrup: Adds extra natural sweetness.
- Vegan Butter: Helps bring the crisp together with that golden finish. Coconut oil would work too.
- Vanilla Extract: Adds warmth and enhances the peach flavor.
- Spices: A mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt ties it all together.

How to Make Healthy Peach Crisp
This easy vegan peach crisp comes together in just a few simple steps:
- Preheat: Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Prep the Peaches: If you’re using frozen peach slices, take them out of the freezer and let them thaw. If you’re using fresh peaches, peel them (or leave the skin on if you prefer) and slice into thin wedges. Add the sliced peaches to a 9-inch pie dish, or similar sized baking dish. Toss the peaches in cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Make the Crisp Topping: In a mixing bowl, combine the oats, almond flour, chopped walnuts, sliced almonds, maple syrup, melted vegan butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Stir everything together until the mixture is crumbly and well combined. Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the peaches.
- Bake. Cover the baking dish with tinfoil and bake for about 25 minutes. Then, uncover and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
- Serve and Enjoy! Let it cool slightly, then scoop into bowls and top with a big scoop of vegan ice cream or coconut whipped cream. Enjoy!

Tips for the Best Peach Crisp
- Use ripe, juicy peaches. Fresh, in-season peaches makes all the difference! The riper they are, the sweeter and more flavorful your crisp will be. For frozen peaches, let them thaw a bit.
- Don’t skip the nuts. The combo of walnuts and almonds adds that perfect nutty crunch to the crisp topping. If you’re nut-free, you can sub with sunflower seeds or just use extra oats!
