Air Fryer Apples
These easy air fryer apples are warm, cinnamon-spiced, and ready in 15 minutes. Enjoy them over oatmeal, yogurt, or ice cream for a healthy fall dessert!

Apple season is finally here! Oh how I look forward to this cozy time of year. It’s the season that makes me want to bake (or in this case, air fry) everything.
I’ve been making a lot of air fryer desserts lately (my blueberry crisp stuffed dates have been on repeat). So when I realized you could make warm, cinnamon-spiced apples in the air fryer in just 15 minutes, I was sold.
Imagine eating spoonfuls of the very best part of apple pie: the gooey, caramelized filling. That’s exactly what these taste like. Think of them as a shortcut to apple pie, with all the cozy flavor and none of the fuss.
It starts with diced apples tossed with cinnamon and maple syrup, then air fried until the edges are perfectly golden and caramelized, while the centers stay soft and tender.

And the smell? Incredible. It’s basically the easiest way to make your kitchen smell like fall without turning on the oven (or lighting a candle).
Only a few simple ingredients stands between you and these healthy air fryer apples. Oh and, as always, they’re 100% vegan, gluten-free, and naturally sweetened.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Shortcut to apple pie: It’s like eating the gooey filling of apple pie, but without the crust, rolling pin, or wait time.
- Ready in 15 minutes: Pop them in the air fryer and you’ll be snacking on warm, cinnamon apples before the oven would even preheat.
- Only a few ingredients: Just apples, cinnamon, maple syrup, and a little coconut oil + vanilla extract.
- Healthy fall dessert: An apple a day, right? Eat them straight from the bowl, spoon over oatmeal or yogurt, or top with a big scoop of ice cream.

Ingredients You’ll Need
I’m willing to bet you have these ingredients in your pantry already!
- Apples: The star of the show! I used two Honeycrisp apples, but any variety will work.
- Cinnamon: The cozy spice that makes these taste just like your favorite apple pie.
- Maple Syrup: Adds natural sweetness and a hint of caramel flavor (without any refined sugars).
- Coconut Oil: Helps caramelize the apples. Don’t worry, you can’t taste the coconut as long as you use refined coconut oil.
- Vanilla Extract: A splash of vanilla to round out the flavors.

- Prep the apples: Wash, core, and dice the apples into bite-sized pieces (peeling is optional; I like to leave the skin on for extra fiber).
- Toss the apples: In a medium bowl, toss the diced apples with cinnamon, maple syrup, coconut oil, and vanilla extract until everything is evenly coated.
- Air fry the apples: Spread the apples in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Air fry at 375°F for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the apples are golden and caramelized.
- Serve and enjoy: Remove from the air fryer and enjoy!

Megan’s Tips
- Dice evenly: Make sure the apples are cut into similar-sized chunks so they cook evenly. Smaller chunks = softer, saucy apples, while bigger chunks = more bite.
- Don’t overcrowd: Spread the apples in a single layer for an even bake, and don’t forget to shake the basket halfway through!
- Adjust the sweetness: Depending on your apples (and your sweet tooth), you can add more/less maple syrup.
- Spice it up: Add a pinch of nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, or even cardamom to make them extra cozy.
How to Serve Air Fryer Apples
My favorite way to enjoy them? Served warm with vegan vanilla ice cream. There’s just nothing better than ice cream with warm fruit.
Other delicious ideas:
- Spooned over a bowl of oatmeal
- Layered with yogurt and granola
- Served with vanilla ice cream (always a win)
- Piled onto pancakes or waffles
- Enjoyed straight from the bowl (they’re totally spoonable)

Storing & Reheating
These apples are best enjoyed fresh and warm, but if you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop them in the air fryer at 350°F for 5-6 minutes, or in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best apples for air frying?
Honeycrisp and Granny Smith are my favorites, but any variety works!
Do you peel the apples?
Totally up to you! I like to leave the skin on for extra fiber (and less work), but you can peel them if you prefer.
Can I make these without oil?
The coconut oil helps caramelize the apples, but they will still cook through without it. You can also swap the coconut oil for vegan butter or avocado oil.
