Theseapple crisp stuffed datesare the easiest fall dessert! Warm cinnamon apples are tucked inside sweet medjool dates, topped with an oat crisp, and air-fried until golden. They taste like a mini apple crisp in every bite!
Sauté the Apples: Add the diced apples, maple syrup, and cinnamon to a sauté pan over medium heat. Sauté for about 8-10 minutes, until soft and tender. Add a splash of water if needed.
Make the Crisp Topping: In a small bowl, mix together the rolled oats, almond flour, chopped walnuts, sliced almonds, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until crumbly.
Prepare the Dates: Slice each date lengthwise (without cutting all the way through), remove the pit, and gently open to create space for filling.
Stuff the Dates: Fill with the warm sautéed apples, then sprinkle with the crisp topping.
Air Fry: Place the stuffed dates in the air fryer basket and cook at 400°F for 4-5 minutes, or until the topping is golden and crisp. Enjoy warm!
Notes
Use good quality dates: Fresh medjool dates are best for that perfect chewy and gooey base.
Applepicking: We're putting apple season to good use! I love Honeycrisp apples for their sweetness and crunch.
Watch the air fryer: Keep an eye on the crisp topping as it can go from golden to burnt very fast!
No air fryer? Bake in the oven at 350°F for 8–10 minutes instead.
